Kimberly Littrell

Kimberly Littrell is the Founder, President, and CEO of The Promedica Research Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She is an Adjunct Professor at Georgia State University, College of Health Sciences. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nurse Practitioner in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing as well as a full clinical member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association.

Mrs. Littrell has authored over 100 papers, book chapters, and scientific reports on the topics of schizophrenia, antipsychotic medications, medication-induced side effects, subjective experience, and reintegration. She has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals including the American Journal of Psychiatry, Archives of General Psychiatry, and the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry. She also serves as an editorial board member and manuscript reviewer for a number of journals. She was a member of the Expert Consensus Panel for the 1999 Guidelines. Additionally, Mrs. Littrell has been featured on television and radio and served as the Technical Advisor for the ABC movie "Out of Darkness" which was based on her work.

Mrs. Littrell is an active researcher and investigator for the clinical trials of antipsychotic and mood stabilizing compounds as well as studies on the effectiveness of non-pharmacological interventions for people with severe mental illness. She serves on the national advisory boards for Eli Lilly & Company, Janssen Pharmaceutica, and Pfizer, Inc. She serves on the Judging Committees for the Lilly Reintegration Awards and Lilly Scholarship Program.

Mrs. Littrell has been the recipient of numerous awards from advocacy and professional groups including for clinical practice, education, and research. She received the Louise E. Grant Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Medical College of Georgia. Mrs. Littrell is a diplomate in the American College of Mental Health Practitioners. Most recently she attained the status of Fellow in the American Orthopsychiatric Association.
