National Organizations Team Up for Special Web Event

National Organizations Team Up for Special Web Event

Recorded on October 8, 2003
Visit this archived event, entitled “The Physician/Consumer Partnership: Paving the Road to Recovery.” This unique collaborative forum focuses on how health care professionals of all disciplines can actively foster recovery and true reintegration for persons with serious mental illness.

The panel included representatives from The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), The Center for Reintegration, The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), and The National Mental Health Association (NMHA). These organizations come together to create greater awareness of the crucial role health care professionals play, through early intervention and knowledge of non-medical supporting resources, in successful reintegration.

The event was moderated by Bettina Gregory, PsyD., former ABC News correspondent and now a practicing therapist.

The special event was webcast during national Mental Illness Awareness Week to encourage national discussion on a wide range of issues related to mental illness.

It is webcast in streaming audio and includes a text transcription and graphics.
